The highly anticipated 2026 Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey has arrived, bringing another exceptional limited release from the team at Michter’s Distillery.
Part of Michter’s prestigious Legacy Series, Shenk’s Homestead honors the legacy of John Shenk, who founded the original Pennsylvania distillery in 1753 that would eventually become Michter’s.
What makes the 2026 release especially unique is the addition of caramel malted barley to its rye-forward recipe, creating a beautiful balance of rich sweetness and spice. Select portions of the whiskey were finished in specially toasted French oak barrels from the Vosges region, complemented by American oak that was naturally air-dried for an incredible 60 months.
Bottled at 91.2 proof, this year's expression delivers layers of graham cracker, caramel bread pudding, ripe stone fruit, toffee, and warm baking spice, with a beautifully balanced and lingering finish.
