The OBSQ recipe combines Four Roses’ high-rye “B” mash bill — 60% corn, 35% rye, and 5% malted barley — with the “Q” yeast strain, creating a bourbon with a beautifully layered combination of fruit, spice, and floral character.

After more than eleven years in the barrel, this one has developed into an incredibly full-bodied and mature pour, with rich dark fruit and cherry leading the way alongside pipe tobacco and plenty of sweet oak. The extended age is certainly present, but rather than becoming overly dry or tannic, the oak works beautifully with the sweetness and fruit character of the whiskey.
